MUST SEE PLACES:


Basilica del Sto. Nino de Cebu – 16th century church, it was built to hold the image of the Sto. Nino, which is believed to be the same image presented by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 to Queen Juana, wife of Rajah Humabon.


Sky Experience Adventure, Crown Regency Hotel and Towers – the tallest tower in the Philippines, it boasts of its ultimate sky experience adventure. Famous of the sky rides are world’s first Edge Coaster and the country’s first and only Sky Walk Extreme

Kawasan Falls – located in the town of Badian, 4 hours away from Metro Cebu, it is a popular getaway destination in the southern part of Cebu. It consists of 3 tiered cascade of crystal clear mountain springs.

Tops – situated 2,000 feet above sea level in the cool hills of Busay. It is an excellent sight-seeing spot which offers breath taking view of Metro Cebu.





Taoist Temple – located in a posh subdivision in Cebu City, it was built by Cebu’s Chinese community. It is open to worshippers and non-worshippers alike. The temple is constructed in a highly elaborate style of Chinese architecture and is topped with a pagoda-style roof.





Magellan’s Cross - it is a 491 year old catholic cross planted by Ferdinand Magellan in Sugbu (now Cebu) to celebrate the introduction into the Roman Catholic religion of Rajah Humabon, his wife and some of their followers. The cross is housed in a chapel next to the Sto Nino Basilica in Magallanes Street.


Casa Gorordo Musuem – built in the mid 19th century, it is the home of the first archbishop of Cebu – Juan Gorordo. A tour inside this residence is a journey into the elegant Filipino lifestyle at the turn of the century.

Mactan Island – an island located a few kilometers of Metro Cebu. It is where the 2nd busiest airport in the country is located, the Mactan International Airport. The island boasts of beautiful hotels and beach resorts offering different water activities like diving, snorkeling, island hopping, etc.

Yap-San Diego Ancestral House – built in the 17th century, it is one of the oldest existing residential structures in the country. Located in the old Parian district where the wealthier Cebuanos used to live during the Spanish era.


Fort San Pedro – was once a military defense structure built by the Spaniards. It also served as a stronghold for Filipinos revolutionaries near the end of the 19th century. At present it is being preserved as historical park and museum. 









Whale Shark Watching in Oslob Cebu – butanding are spotted in Tan-awan, Oslob in the southern part of Cebu. It is an attraction that is growing in popularity. Local fishermen and tourists can interact with the whale sharks by feeding them by hand. However altering their natural process of feeding and the presence of people near them can give stress and so policies are being implemented to protect these gentle giants.
